Work, Eat, and Play Smoke Free in Walterboro!

Beginning August 1, 2008 Walterboro's establishments, including bars and restaurants are smoke free.

In May 2008 the Walterboro City Council passed an amendment to the City Code of Ordinances, which requires that all enclosed public places of employment, such as: food establishments, liquor establishments, professional offices, banks, laundromats, hotels, motels, licensed childcare and adult day care facilities, retail stores, theaters, performance halls, and private clubs be smoke free. 

Several other local governments in South Carolina, including the Beaufort County, Town of Bluffton, City of Charleston, Town of Hilton Head Island, Town of Mount Pleasant, Town of Sullivan’s Island, and the City of Beaufort, have also passed smoking bans.
